The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation invites you to a Breakfast Briefing: 2018 Farm Bill Reauthorization 2168 Rayburn House Office Building (Gold Room) Washington, DC 20003 The Agricultural Act of 2014, or more commonly known as the Farm Bill, is set to expire in September 2018, which will also lead to the expiration of many important programs for our nations fish and wildlife populations. This Breakfast Briefing will provide an opportunity to further understand the importance of the programs contained within the conservation title in the Farm Bill that have far-reaching benefits to our nations hunters, anglers, and agriculture producers. The Farm Bill is a comprehensive piece of legislation that includes many programs to help support soil, water, and fish and wildlife conservation on Americas private lands, farms, ranches, and forests. The conservation title contains a number of pro-sportsmens programs, including the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), which allows farmers to take sensitive land out of crop production in exchange for rental payments; Voluntary Public Access and Habitat Incentive Program (VPA-HIP), which encourages landowners to open their lands for public access; working lands programs, which provide financial assistance to landowners to improve habitat and other resource concerns on land in active crop production, grazing, and forestry; and the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), which conserves wetlands and other important habitats through easements. Collectively, these programs account for over $5 billion in conservation funding per year, and are vital tools in conserving healthy fish and wildlife populations, and increase access for Americas sportsmen and women to participate in our time-honored traditions of hunting and fishing. We look forward to working with the 115th Congress and the Congressional Sportsmens Caucus to find opportunities to advance a comprehensive, bipartisan, and pro-sportsmens Farm Bill in 2018. nsex* ASSOCi.ATIO to o f H5H mm: ACi N C l S Dbf'J'A NWTTF C o n s e rv e .
