Both areas where the manufacture of polyvinyl chloride took place were two-story buildings where the second floor is made up of open grating. The size of the buildings are:
Copolymer: H: 38' W: 45* L: 100'
Homopolymer: H: 38' W: 30' L: 100'
Note that the petitioner, like any other Supervisor, spent only about 40% to 60% in the above production areas. The remainder of the work shift was spent in either open areas, the dryer warehouse area and/or in the Supervisor's Office.
To Item 5:
Yes. There were H&V units on both sides of the building generating 11.2 air changes per hour in the Homopolymer Plant and 13.3 air changes in the Copolymer Plant. The ventilation system was set up such that fresh air was introduced at the first, floor. Exhaust fans, exiting through the roof, would remove the air. Additional ventilation was installed in early 1970 which allowed air to be exhausted from the first floor also.
