Attached you will find a copy of the "Asbestos Removal Operation" policy from the Paulsboro Refinery with the results of sampling data listed on Table I. Note that the eight-hour time weighted average exposures are representative of short work durations. In these cases, workers were exposed to asbestos fibers for time periods ranging from 17 to 30 minutes.
In review, the present asbestos policy at the 3eaumont Refinery is more than adequate in meeting requirements of O.S.H.A. 1910.93 a.

Personnel Protective Measures (Revised) Asbestos Removal Operation Paulsboro Refinery

All asbestos-containing insulation materials must be thoroughly wetted with water before removal. Recommended a 5-gallon spray can be used, particularly at high elevations.
i-iployees involved in the removal operation must be equipped with a NIOSK-Approvea, single-use, disposable respirator, 3M, Moaei 3710, gloves, and coveralls.
Asbestos-insulation waste, debris and used disposable clothing must immediately be packed in impervious bags and affixed with cautionary tags. The tag shall state;

The bagged waste material should be disposed and covered daily in the Refinery landfill. If disposal at the Refinery becomes impractical due to space limitations, a local contractor should be used.
Proper cautionary signs must be displayed at each asbestos removal or demolition alta. The signs shall state:
