March 20, 1990 I have reviewed the materials you sent in the case of Warren vs. BFG, et al. These are not medical records but interpretations of what are described as some medical records, but.not all medical records, on Mr. Warren. The qualifications of the person interpreting the records is not given. With these caveats, it appears to me that Mr. Warren probably had an angiosarcoma of the liver which metastasized. This implies it was primary in the liver, but gives no indication of the cause. There is no information as to Mr. Warren's exposures which can be interpreted as to possible relationships between vinyl chloride and Mr. Warren's angiosarcoma. Vinyl chloride is a chemical known to be associated with angiosarcoma of the liver, but other chemicals are also associated with angiosarcoma of the liver, and other cases have occurred with no known chemical associations.
