Acquired Electro-Alloys Corporation of Elyria, Ohio as a subsidiary for production of high nickel chromium alloys. Changed the name of the company to American Brake Shoe Cocpany. 1944---- Formed the ationai Bearing Division of the company0 Formed the Electro-Alloys Division cf the company. Completed construction of the Experimental Foundry at the Research Center in lahwah, New Jersey. 1945 --Commenced extensive plant replacement program. 1946 --Acquired Joliette Steel, Ltd. in Joliette, Quebec, Canada which became a subsidiary for manufacture of manganese castings in Canada. Acquired Progressive Foundry Works, Inc. in Rochester, N. Y. Forced Engineered Castings Division from above. 1947-----Completed plant replacement program. New Plants at iieadville, ?a. Niles, Ohio Elyria, Ohio Meadow Tanas, ?a. Winchester, 7a. Lindsay, Ontario, Canada New Chemical Research Laboratory at Research Center, Hahvah, New Jersey. 1948-----Acquired Korden Frog & Crossing Works in Chicago, Illinois. This became a part of Ramapo Ajax Division. 1949---- Acquired former million dollar government plant in Buffalo which joined Bamapo Division.
