Technical Bulletin No. 83-3, employee training is necessary when exposures to asbestos may exceed the 0.1 fiber/cc action level. To assist you in fulfilling this requirement, we have purchased a 14-minute sound/slide presentation entitled, "Breathe Easy". The presentation is directed primarily to maintenance activities (demolition, renovation, etc.), with special emphasis on the following: 1. Hazards associated with asbestos 2. Work practices and disposal procedures 3. Protective clothing 4. Personal hygiene practices 5. Warning about smoking 6. Air monitoring 7. Medical surveillance This sound/slide program is available on a loan basis for a two week maximum time period so that everyone will have an opportunity to view it m a timely fashion. As a final comment, there have been some questions raised concerning medical surveillance with regards to asbestos exposures as outlined in our Asbestos Technical Bulletin.
