I must identify people who respond to questions for an agency. I will use your name. This is all on-the-record official agency response.

Gary, please attribute to an agency spokesperson:
1) What have EPA studies shown about the effects of chlorpyrifos?
EPA scientists believe the science around chlorpyrifos is unresolved, and that further evaluation of the science should be done - and that EPA will make a decision about the registration of the pesticide by the deadline set forth in the law. 2) Why hasn't the EPA heeded the American Academy of Pediatrics and others and taken chlorpyrifos off the market?

The two never had a meeting.
4) Was EPA spokesman J.P. Freire accurate when he told the AP in April that Administrator Pruitt had had no meetings with Dow on this topic?
Yes, the two never had a meeting. AP reported inaccurately and false information about this meeting, which they later corrected. 5) What advice can the EPA give consumers and farmers who use products with chlorpyrifos? Consumers don't use this;

it's one of the most widely-used pesticides in the country and anyone using it should follow the specific instructions of the manufacturer.
Please add any other related comments/insights.
There has been little coverage of the facts on chlorpyrifos, the petition, and EPA's work around reviewing this pesticide. The facts are that, despite several years of study, EPA scientists believe the science around chlorpyrifos is unresolved, and that further evaluation of the science should be done - and that EPA will make a decision about the registration of the pesticide by the deadline set forth in the law. The Ninth Circuit refused to short-circuit the process established by Congress to evaluate the safety of chlorpyrifos, affording EPA the necessary time to conduct a proper evaluation under the law of the science and the studies on chlorpyrifos and provide clarity about the pesticides' safety to the American people.

What you sent did NOT answer my questions, particulllry questions 1-2 and 5 which had nothing to do with an AP correction. I will have to say the EPA refused repeated requests for responses, but I would rather not say that. I would appreciate the agency's views.
As for questions 3 and 4 ,1prefer the EPA answering this instead of AP. What was discussed and did EPA have NO meetings with Dow on this topic?
Thank you.
