Shropshire, President Gentlemen: this acknowledges your letter of Kay 8, 1961, request ing a reduction of approximately $14 per ton of East Helena fume. I note that this request is due to recent reductions in sine oxide prices, which range from $25 to $32.50 per tan of various grades of elite oxide. We have considered this request in relation to costs of treating East Helena fuse to sine metal through our Electro lytic Zinc Plants and find that we are able to grant a reduction of $10 per dry short ton of East Helena fume, from the calculated price. Fume is to be of approximately the quality which we cus tomarily produce. This reduction is to be applied to deliveries of fume on and after Kay 1, 1961, covered under the terms of the contract between Anaconda Copper Mining Company (now The Anaconda Company) end American Chamet Corporation, dated June 7, 1948, as amended July 5, 1949. Deliveries of fume in excess of contract tonnage are to be covered by separate letter agreements specifying quantities end settlement price.
