Jones of Ethyl Corporation. Mr^^HBfctias for several years been collecting samples of gasoline from service station pumps for analysis by the state. M r . ^ m | has not been at all well for the . past year^^?bout one year ago he had a severe neuritis, both arms, particularly his right, which improved and he returned to work. Again six weeks ago he began to complain of pains in his arms and legs, also progressive weakness and stiffness of joints. Physical findings were principally moderate anemia (Hgb. 76^-RBC 4 million) and marked atrophy of supra spinatus muscles as well as moderate atrophy of the Thenar and Hypo-Thenar eminences and Interossei muscles of both hands, also noted weakness of extensor muscle groups of the wrist and hands. I have suspected Tetra-Ethyl lead intoxication, but have not been able to produce any laboratory finding to back up my clinical impression, particularly as far as Plumbism is concerned. If you have anything to suggest or information about intoxications from Tetra-Ethyl fumes or lead, I would appreciate very much to hear from you. * 0016037
