OSHA COMMITTEE ACTIONS AND COSTS
The OSHA Committee is responsible for recommending compliance action-as per JPH-43-76 dated April 12, 1976 attachment titled "OSHA Committee", Paragraph lc and Paragraph 5--for management approval. Following this approval, responsibility for compliance then rests with line management and/ or with individuals specifically designated by the Directors.
Management is expecting a "package recommendation" from the Committee as soon as possible regarding the following questions:
1. What non-compliance items can be corrected by one recommendation (machine guarding, exit marking, fixed ladders etc. ) ?
2. What non-compliance items will require continued action (setting up and administering a respiratory protection program, machinery and equipment inspection, toxic substance monitoring etc. )?
3. What administrative controls does the facility need (record keeping, reporting, review etc.)?
4. What will manpower and materials cost for achieving the above (estimated) ?
Below are items for the Committee's review and discussion at our next regular meeting -
. Frequency of Committee meetings during heavy work period-May through July.
. Procedures associated with Committee work.
. Priorities.
By copy of this memo, I am inviting the Directors and Mr. R. W. James to attend the next OSHA Committee meeting at 10:00 a. m. in the East Conference Room on Wednesday, May 12, 1976.
