DeBernardi March 25, 1977 Benzene Exposure - VCM Plant feOfi>--Oj As indicated at the plant meeting in February, 1977 with headquarters and Stamford personnel, our position related to employee exposures to benzene was not known. Our normal VCM monitoring program has not given us a benzene concentration level as is explained in the attached letter. We have, however, been successful in extracting benzene values from our data as is also explained in the attachment. This information indicates that benzene is not a problem in our plant at the proposed 8-hour TWA levels. We intend to develop o G.C. column which will separate benzene from trichloro ethylene so that all benzene exposure data will be available to us as part of our normal VCM monitoring program. J. A.
