We have reviewed the promotional brochures and studies you sent, and we are impressed with the services you are providing our industry. As the major vinyl shrink film producer, Reynolds will definitely benefit from your activities. On the other hand, we feel that our input could be helpful in guiding your work and that we should not only support, but be a part of these technical activities. Reynolds only recently rejoined the SPI after being a non-member for too long. The annual corporate dues were $77,000, and of this my division within Reynolds, the Flexible Packaging Division, paid $30,000. I would hope that this would entitle Reynolds to Supporting Member status without paying another $15,000. The Supporting Member obviously would have a limited voice in the Vinyl Institute activities, and perhaps the Member Companies have good reason to not offer full membership privileges to Reynolds and other film and sheet producers. If so, we would like to understand those reasons. For now, Mr. Gottesman, Reynolds is declining your invitation. If there is any further change in your membership policy, please contact us again as we would like to participate and support your activities.
