This has reference to your letter of January 23, 1981 to the AAR S t e e r i n g .Commit tee relative to products being usedas wicks to heat rail when making j o ints.
The Seaboard Coast Line uses Thermo-Pac, one-inch asbestos for this practice. This is supplied by the Johns-Manville Company and we know of no problems associated with its use.
