The Chcirstan noted the proxlaity of the date (Jfoveaber 24, 1934) upon which Standard* of Safety and Health, a* required by the Lead Code, would have to be submitted to the Administrator. Be noted the fact that the Copp<r Code Authority wte working upon a similar setter and in view of the close relation between the safety and health problem# of the copper and lead industries, he proposed that the two industries confer upon this subject, through the sedlua of a Code Authority represedative froa the Lead Industry and the Chalrsan of the Safety and Health Coenlttee of the Copper Code Authority,

Section 3, paragraph (f) woe designed to apply to continuous processes where the restriction cf tours of labor of work would unavoidably reduce or interrupt production because of the deeands inherent within and peculiar to the process it self. If an employee has worked hie regular shift and his relief ia not there to relieve hl, it iw peraiesible under the Code, for the aan being relieved to work a temporary reason able tise until relief is provided, being paid for the overtime at regular rates. Jio overuse at tine and one-half need be paid for tesporaxy relief work, otherwise collusion between em ployee* so as to gain overtine to their vutual advantage, would be encouraged. Teoporaxy re lief does not neon that sen are privileged to arrange their relief to the extent where they deliberately plan to exchange shifts.
Kr. kulock noted to change the wording of Inter pretation Ko. 1, substituting the words 'standard week* for *eeven-day period* at the end of the setence. The amendment *a seoonded and carried.
It was thereupon moved, seoonded and carried that the Coda Authority approve the interpretations as amended.
