FURNACE AREA Brickwork on the molter roof and port necks is complete* V/ork continued on the regenerators. V/all3 are complete and work
is in progress on the west regenerator roof arch. Combustion air blower L~4 and fans I.-10, L-ll, L-12 have been
set in place and leveling began. Elevation of the dissolver to allow roller setting began. The sand unloading hopper is in place and track placement is
in progress. Assembly of conveyor -12 and elevator Z-l continued. Precast
concrete cover slabs were p3_aced over the elevator foundation. Tank T-26 was set in place. Installation of flat transits`wall lining at elevation 139'-3"
is complete. Installation of transite, including weatherstripping, is 955 complete.
Louver installation and flashing is 955 complete. Installation of office and laboratory floor tile and cabinet work in the laboratory is complete. Insulation of batch bin B-2 and installation of sheet metal cover is in progress* Concrete was placed for two sections of paving and foundations P-51, 52, 53, and 54. Lighting, power and cable tray work continued. 13.8 KV termination in the switchgear and transformers is complete. Six hundred V cable from 480 v switchgear to the transformers is complete and termination is in progress.
Foui' inch conduit from the furnace 13.8 KV switchgear to the thickener transformer is complete and cable pulling is in progress.
Three inch conduit from furnace switchgear to thickener switchgear is complete. 13.8 KV cable splicing at manhole No, 154 is complete.
Lighting work is 305 complete and power work is 155 complete. Installation of refractories in the frit reactor began.

Piping
Thickener Area Piping of largo diameter piping on thickener tanks continues with 20"
piping from tank T-19 to T-20 completed and commenced from tank T-7 to T-8* Piping in area k$% couplets.
Furnace Area
Pipe work on tanks T-2-31-32 & 26 is complete. Piping of tanks T-28
Sc 29 complete except hangers,, Tanks Th & 5 require a short stub to tio
them together to make their piping complete. Steam coil in T-l has bean
installed in tank and now ready for piping. Tank T-3 requiros the installa
tion of a few blinds which will complete its piping.
Piping from turbo tanks R-2-3-4 & 5 continues and is now approximately
90% complete.
Pipe work on pump P-32 was commenced and piping of pumps P-9 Sc 10; at
turbo tanks resumed.
Frit reactor and pneumatic blow tank piping continues and is 95% and
80% complete respectively.
Frit reactor blower piping was completed to heater and pipe work resumed
for frit reactor scrubber*

The fabrication and installation of chemtite piping for acid continues with area piping 95% complete.
Dryer Area

Piping is now complate for T-U5 air receiver;- G-lli filter; scrubbers 1-2 fi: 3$ scrubber fans L-7-2U Sc 25; recovery pumps P-UU & 76; silencer G-11-12 Sc 13^ pumps P-19-20-7i*-75-79 Sc 82;: flash tank T-15; filter pumps L-8-23 Sc 2U and vacuum and supply lines to filter No's 5-6 & 7. The installation of steam traps on steam line was resumed. Insulation contractor is scheduled to resume work July 1 starting with flash tank T-15.

G. Cleaning of Siding:
a. Clean all exposed faces of siding of labels, dirt, streaks, caulking or sealing materials, undue discolorations, etc,, and provide at least a dry wipedown at time of erection.
b. All exposed faces of siding, just prior to acceptance of the WORK, shall be completely satisfactory in appearance to Consulting Engineers. Any defects in appearance, due to Contractor, shall be remedied at Contractor's expense, as required.

Requirements
A. Accessories for siding shall include the following: a. Flashing b. Closures c. Caulking and sealing d. Fasteners
B. Requirements for these accessories shall be as specified in this Table except that requirements for fasteners are speci fied in Table 5-3.
A. Material: 26 gauge (0.019") thick. Type 316 stainless steel. B. Location: Where indicated on drawings. C. Installation:
a. Lap one full corrugations where parallel to corrugations. b. Lap 4" minimum at right angles to corrugations and seal
with closures as hereinafter specified.
A. Premolded closed cell neoprene, as approved, to match corrugations applied with "Dow Series 400" adhesive.
B. Location: Top and bottom, or ends, of sheets.
A. Material; a. Rope putty for side and end laps. b. Gray asbestos putty all other caulking. c. All caulking as approved.
B. Location: Provide continuous caulking and sealing for all horizontal, vertical and other joints in all siding and rn all applicable accessories as required to insure permanently sealed joints.
C. Indicate location and-type of ALL caulking on shop drawings.

A. V' lead head bolt. If bolt is electroplated, bolt shall be dipped in paint approved by Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, prior to erection. If bolt is hot dip galvanized and lead head applied after galvanizing, no paint dip will be required. Provide 1/8" thick steel clips, hot dip galvanized as follows: a. J-clips: Attachment to channels. b. Z-clips or hook clips: Attachment to angles.
