Van Borden COPT SUGGESTION ON PftlPARIP Mr. Cobbs presented various possible treatMOts pre pared by the agency for bringing Motion of the wnlte lead con tent of prepared paint Into the advertlalng copy. It eas brought out that these suggestions were submitted to the Conmlttee not for a decision as to shlch treatment eas the most desir able but for suggestions as to whether these examples wou*d suf fice depending upon the policy decided upon by the Policy Coa lttee. A number of suggested changes were presented and It eas decided that tnase should be Incorporated as possible additional treatment., those presented by the agency also being retained. It eas felt that It night be better In our case to use the term "prepared paint* rather tnan "ready-mixed paint" aa ready-mixed paint gives the impression of mixed pigments. Mr. Cobbs sgreed to draft a aeries of suggested treatments incorporating the views of the Advertising Comltts* - all to be submitted to the Policy Committee for consideration. fli*31 I jflTMaWLfiLaL SJ The Committee then viewed A slide film prepared by llilisa J. It was fprara^ly fait that such media as Sweet'* Catalog oerviee nfted not be used by tha Association^** It la uaed by Boat of our members. . Several letters froa painting contractors vno received the book, THAT TO EXPECT FROM WHITE LEAD PAINT, which requested additional copies ranging froa a few to one thousand, were read. It waa decided that tha booklet was too expensive to distribute free of charge In this manner and that tha best procedure would be to offer each a amall quantity, say a half-doran, free for their own use or the use of their salesmen, and to offer ad ditional quantities In bulk for about tg per copy. Likewise, It was felt that If any contractors wish to show the booklet to. customers and have their customers write for Individual copies, the Lead Industries Association would fill the requests. Meeting adjourned at bt80 PJ1. Secretary
