L. E. Curtis, M.D., Standard Oil Company of California 225 Bush Street San Francisco 20, California
Dear Doctor Curtis:
I am sending to you, by air mail, a copy of the report of the investigation of T'.iL on the West Coast, for examination and prompt return to me, with any criticisms or suggestions which arise out of your consideration of the reference made to your Company, to gheir participation in this investigation, and to the handling of the names of the principals in such participation. (I have not acknowledged the monetary contribution made by any of the companies, except as it was represented by services. I have no reluctance to do this, but I am more concerned by the propriety of acknowledging the technical advice and assistance, and with our indebtedness for it, than I am with the financial sponsorship. If you believe this should be mentioned, for any reason, do not hesitate to say so.)
I shall be glad to have ny comments or criticisms on the form or other features of the presentation, but I am concerned, at this time, only with .matters of policy, and I hope to hear from you promptly, so as to be able to make any changes that may be required without further delay. The report can then be reproduced in final form in suitable numbers.
There are errors in the typescript which need not concern you. ISy copy is now being gone over with minute care to detect any such errors of commission or omission. However, I have not delayed the sending out of these copies for a day longer than ms necessary to assemble the essential Information and discussion.
If you can give me some idea of the number of copies of the report which you and your associates will require, or of the numbers which should be distributed otherwise, your suggestion will be helpful.
Sincerely yours.
Robert A. Kehoe, M. D.
