TOYS
Dear Dr. Kehoe:
Pursuant to our conversation of this afternoon, the following are the indicator dyes in which we are interested:
Alizarin Red S Aniline Slue Bril 1iant Yellow
Vie incorporate a 50-50 blend in pairs of each of these dyes into a carbowax cOOO, such that the final tablet weighs .20 grains and contains 2% total weight of the indicator dye pair. The following is the exact formulation of three separate tablets:
#1 Tablet - Alizarin Red S - 3rilliant Yellow # 2 Tablet - Brilliant Yellow and Aniline Blue
The tablet size is 3/4" in diameter x 3/32" thick. The tablet is firmly glued to a cardboard platform.
As would be expected, the tablet is water soluble^ no other ingredient used. The tablet is firm, relatively hard, and does not dust or bloom.
The toy with which these tablets will be associated is intended for use
among children in the age group from 5 to 10 years. Careful directions
are included with the toy, and we explicitly instruct the user that the
tablets are not to be removed from the platform.
