Dear Rocco:
Enclosed please find the results of the monitorings conducted on April 30, 1980, at the Chicago Kentile location. As you can see, the Time Weighted Averages (TWA) range between 0.5 and 0.4 for the asbestos weigh scale operators and between 0.5 and 1.1 for the scrap scale operators. These values are well within current OSHA limitations of 2.0 fibers/cc of air.
The TWA value of 1.1 for the scrap scale operator on Line 17, however, is significantly higher than the other operators that were monitored. As suggested in the report, his position in the air flow pattern to the dust collector is considered to be a contributing factor In this higher value.
It was a pleasure meeting those who helped us conduct these tests in Chicago and we appreciate the hospitality shown us at both locations. Once
again, if you have any questions regarding the report do not hesitate to call.
Very truly yours*..^
