D.^ I celled Dr. Joseph Tomashefski, Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine, Ohio State University. He is the physician who did the pulmonary function testing in the various cities of Ohio. Dr. Tomashefski told me that in any plant doing less than several hundred pulmonary function tests a day, the Pulmonor (Jones), which Dr. Neeld has already ordered, is the best instrument. The Wedge Spirometer costs over $1500, but is capable of being analysed by an analog compu ter, and is the one to be considered if more than several hundred tests are done on any location daily. Dr. Tcmashefski advised, after I told him what we had in mind, that we con sider the Pulmonor instrument. Dr. Tcmashefski, of course, knows Dr. Reinhardt. We agreed that Dr. Reinhardt should spend a day or so in his laboratory to get a feeling of this undertaking for us, by pre-arrangement, of course, and sometime in the near future. Dr. Tomashefski also advised that anytime in the future he could be of service, he would be most willing and anxious to do so. I promised to call him in consultation if and when the occasion arose. Dr. Tomashefski also suggested that after Bill Neeld acquires his machine, and should'questions arise, he would be pleased to hear from him directly.
