Ken provides staff support to Ecology's Executive Director Maia Bellon for the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS). ECOS is the national nonprofit, nonpartisan association of state and territorial environmental agency commissioners and directors. Ken has worked with ECOS on many state/federal issues including recent efforts to reform the Toxics Substances Control Act that was passed in 2016. He was also involved in the development of the Cooperative Federalism 2.0 that was created in April 2017. Ken has worked for state environmental agencies in Texas and Washington State on air, water and waste related programs. Ken has served in a leadership capacity at the national and international levels as Chairman of the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable. Ken serves on several boards and committees, including the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable, the Green Chemistry in Commerce Council (GC3) and the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC). Ken holds a B.S. in Environmental Management from the University of Houston at Clear Lake City.
