During the fall/wlnter of 1974 MS-3 ceased production, except to fulfill conmitted jobs. Any projects bid and awarded on the basis of ME-3 were shipped MS-3. Production of MS-5 for all other projects commenced at that time with formal issuing of the formula draft for US-5 in March 1975. For an unspecified time both MS-3 and US-5 may have been produced and shipped simultaneously. Edmonton . US-3 ceased production in December 1975. MS-5 production commenced January 1976. Formal issuing of formula draft actually took place prior to this - September 1975. Delay in switch likely due to committed orders and raw materials being used. Winnipeg, Calgary. Regina ' Under Insulation Industries and later Grant Industries Monokote with asbestos was produced, however last production in 1970. In September 1974 Winnipeg produced Monokote for the Health Science Centre. Project completed 1975. No records of the amount involved nor type of Monokote is available. Some of this project material was brought in from our Edmonton plant (would seem to indicate MK-3). St. Thomas Under F. Hyde St. Thomas produced MK-3. At the time of takeover on_ September 15th 1972 records indicate 186,180 lbs. of asbestos(7M02) in 100 lb. bags were purchased. Also 17,300 empty MK-3 bags were purchased.
