In com.nientlng on this report on the phone, Mr. Mc~{ahon, :f.:anaging Director of the Industrial Hygiene Foundation stated, that the control of dust in this mill was far above the average f9r an asbestos textile plant. He inaicated that a dust count under 5 million particles per cubic foot is 600~. However we recognize that this is a continuing program, and we propose to first correct the conditions in the ~icker Eouse at those points where the dust concentration 1s over 5 million particles per cubic foot. 'Ne then propose to make some changes in the card room, which 'W ill res~l t in further improvement .
ITe are continuing to experiment with the ap~lication of oil to the
fibre. We believe that this will result in further im?rove~ent throughout the plant.
Please consider this, as aprellminaryreport as I plan to advise you from time to time of improvements that have been made,
A 11 ttle later, after we b.e.ve ~ade some change.s sugge, ated by the Industrial Hygiene Foundation engineer, we shall arrange w1 th Mr. Fehnel, of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, to make additional dust counts in our various departmen ts
Yours very truly,
mrs.
