As an indication of our use of asbestos, in 19^9, 19 of our plants used 6,260 tons of asbestos. The biggest user was East Chicago, followed by New Brighton, OypBum, Dallas and Chamblee. The new Midway Plant will be a heavy user of asbestoa. As you can see, our Involvement with the asbestos problem is very real and it is Important we be kept advised of developcents. It has previously been decided fcy management that our vehicle for bing kept advised would be membership on the Health-and Safety Council of the Asbestos Cement Products Association. Our primary activity has been in attending meetings in which the current statue of the asbestos problem has been dlsaussed.
