Blanklnship Nomex Marketing Centre Road Building f a*oi Ca( /OX SUBSTITUTE FOR ASBESTOS TAPE Tapes of Nomex aramid are being developed as substitutes for the one- and two-inch asbestos tapes which are used as insulating wraps by plants and laboratories. ("Nomex" fiber is produced at our Spruance Plant.) Preliminary studies indicate that tapes of "Nomex" will provide improved insulation capability at approximately the same cost as asbestos. Development quantities in one- and two-inch widths will be avail able in early 1st Quarter '76. Because of limited quaptitles, Du Pont locations are being given the opportunity to evaluate this material first. Free samples will be shipped to Du Pont locations that want to participate in the evaluation. If you want to participate, return the attached questionnaire to me.
