Since action has already been taken to avoid tramp metal contamination, 4 any report of rock content would no doubt lead to efforts to find the source of the trouble and could involve delays in the operation of mills, milling systems and bagging machinery, with resultant reduced production. ' Many years ago for a period (before the installation of separators in the milling system) small quantities of rock, fuse wire and the wire used for binding explosives, used to be carried through with the fibre and past magnets into the bag. It could be that some of this material is included in the GSA Stockpile DX. Since the installation of separators, rocks and debris have been shaken out of the fibre and there is no stage past the separators at which rock could subsequently be introduced. Before taking your claim a stage further, may I please ask you to examine carefully whether the Amosite which is the subject of complaint could have been from GSA Stockpile stocks. It would seem to me that, if it was, then consideration might be given to claiming against the GSA, although I would like to discuss this with Mrs. Joan Holtze before such action was taken.
