My dear Bill:
In reply to your letter of October 29th with reference to the Array stove, I telephoned Colonel Hoss of the Quartermaster Department and asked him what we could do to get one of these stoves. He stated that it would be impossible for us to buy one but suggested that I write to the Quartermaster General and ask for the loan of one of the stoves for experimental use.
I have so written and have asked that the stove be sent to you at the Kettering Laboratory. A copy of my letter wert to Colonel Hoss and it is possible that we may get some action within a reasonable time.
If and when the stove arrives, I would like to discuss with you through correspondence or otherwise, the nature of the experiments which you may carry out as I have a few ideas on this subject.
