Per our conversation, please find attached S. G. Bollinger's request for Eaton to participate In the non-asbestos brake program for GMC's 1986 model year. GM is requesting that we submit our proposed brake lining per the attached sheets for GAWR ranges of 6,000 through 35,000 lb. requirements.
In conjunction with this program, GM Is requesting additionally that we make available to them prototypes of brake configurations with our recommended NAB lining material for dynomometer evaluation
work by 9/1/83. Additional evaluation will also be done in the field commencing with vehicle build on 11/1/83. It Is my under standing per our conversation as of 7/13, that you have started work on this request. However, It is important that we complete this program within the time frame GM has requested.
