CHASSIS AFFECTED ALLENTOWND HAYWARD(Zf OAKVILLE
ANTI-WHEEL LOCK WIRING (Mack Western RL, RS, WL and WS Models with MVSS121 Brake System)
PURPOSE To advise of a change in the anti-wheel lock warning unit wiring.
RECOMMENDATION Inform all service personnel of the revised wiring and stress
importance of determining which system is in use before attempting to diagnose a malfunction.
INFORMATION Starting October 19, 1975, connections at the anti wheel lock warning unit "W" terminals were changed. Connections for current and non-current chassis are as follows.
Chassis built on and after October 19, 1975
Two-axle vehicles - W1 terminal monitors steering axle W2 terminal monitors rear axle
Three-axle vehicles - W1 terminal monitors steering axle W2 terminal monitors bogie forward axle (no change)
W3 terminal monitors bogie rear axle
Chassis built prior to October 19, 1975
Two-axle vehicles - W1 terminal monitors rear axle W2 terminal monitors steering axle
Three-axle vehicles - W1 terminal monitors bogie rear axle W2 terminal monitors bogie forward axle W3 terminal monitors steering axle
When trouble shooting the anti-wheel lock system determine, e ither by build date or physically tracing the wiring, which system is used. This practice will insure that time is not lost checking the wro ng axle related components.
