Williams, Hydrogeologist Division o f Drinking and Ground Waters Southeast District Office 2195 Front Street Logan, Ohio 43138 Response to Comments Extension of the One-Mile Radius In Ohio Dear Mr, Williams: DuPont appreciates the review of our proposal to extend the One-Mile Radius in Ohio by the Division o f Drinking and Ground Waters and the Division of Surface Water at the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) Southeast District Office (letter dated June 19, 2002). DuPont has reviewed the comments and agrees to make the suggested changes as described. Figure 1 shows two-mile radius area in Ohio. Within the entire two-mile radius, all homes in areas "A", "B" and "C'\ will be surveyed. In the areas marked "A" and "C" all wells, springs and cisterns used for drinking water will be sampled. Non-drinking water and unused wells, springs and cisterns in areas "A" and "C" will not be sampled. In the area marked "B" and along Township Road 97 (located within area "C"), all wells, springs and cisterns will be sampled regardless of use classification (drinking water, non-drinking water and unused). During the surveying and sampling process, the protocols outlined in the Quality Assurance Project Plan (DuPont 2002) will be followed. Surveying within area "B" of the two-mile radius began on June 17,2002 by Potesta Associates. While surveying is ongoing, C-8 analytical results will be provided to the Ohio EPA, as finalized.
