Sydney Hupp Executive Scheduler Office of the Administrator 202.816.1659 (c) From: Russ Hendricks [mailto:rhendricks@idahofb.org] Sent: Tuesday, May 9, 2017 12:56 PM To: Hupp, Sydney <hupp.sydney@epa.gov> Cc: Ferris, Lena <Ferris.Lena@epa.gov>; Bangerter, Layne <bangerter.layne@epa.gov> Subject: Speaking Invitation - Western State Farm Bureau Governmental Affairs Directors Dear Administrator Pruitt: I am writing to invite you to speak at an upcoming meeting of the Directors of Governmental Affairs for the western state Farm Bureau organizations. Farm Bureau is the largest agricultural organization in the nation, and the policies of the EPA have a dramatic impact upon our members as they conduct their farming and ranching operations. 17cv01906 Sierra Club v. EPA ED 001523B 00006442-00001 We are very encouraged by the direction that you and President Trump have been taking during the first 100 days of the administration. We are very supportive of the proposed withdrawal of the WOTUS rule, the clean power plan, and other burdensome regulations which went far beyond the legal scope of power for the EPA. Each year the state Farm Bureau Directors of Governmental Affairs meet together to discuss issues, hear from experts and determine how best to work with the administration and Congress to remove unnecessary and overreaching regulatory burdens so our members can do what they do best, provide food, fiber and fuel for the rest of the nation and the world. If you are available, we would love to have you join us on Wednesday, June 14 at 11:00 am at the Coeur d'Alene Resort in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. You would have up to one hour for your comments and to take Q&A. Representatives from every western state except California have registered at this point. We anticipate approximately 17 attendees, plus some spouses, so it will be an intimate setting. No press will be present, unless you would like us to invite the press for your presentation. This will be a great opportunity to share President Tramp's and your vision of the proper role of the EPA and how EPA can work more effectively with the states. We believe our organizations can have a positive influence on the Congressional delegations from the western states to help implement your goals and priorities. We see this as an opportunity to ensure we are all on the same page and moving forward in a unified manner. We understand that you cannot always be at every event that you would like to attend. If you cannot attend personally, we would appreciate the opportunity to hear from another senior political official within EPA. If you need any additional information from me, please don't hesitate to contact me using the information below. Thanks for your consideration of this request, we look forward to hearing from you. 17cv01906 Sierra Club v.
