SUOJECT: The Ceilinite (asbestos) Material - Steam Generator Coils The Ceilinite (asbestos) material normally used in the.' coil pads of vapor steam generators is no.longer available: Vapor Engineering has conducted tests :Over a two and one-half year period, with a flexible light-weight fibrous, material made of a'special fiberglass wool. . ' The material is in compressible pad form, one-half inch, thick- Since it is slightly more compressible than Ceilinite, an extra layer v/ill be provided in each' set of coil pads. The new .coil.pads retain the resilient-characteristics Of the old asbestos pad, and have the added advantage of.not requiring soaking- when being handled. Also, there is no health hazard for the handlers. The part number for the new coil pads' will remain the same. ' Please advise the various shop people in the terri tories for which you are responsible of this change, so that no unnecessary concern occurs' when the new material is received in place of the former Ceilinite.- * .
