SCOPE
1. General - The general conditions of the contract are a part of this speci fication. This specification covers the furnishing, delivering, unloading, hauling, storing, protection and application of Limpet to complete all insulated surfaces as shown on Drawing TA 18-1140.
2. Work Included - The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, mater ials, tools and equipment to perform the work specified herein.
3. Supplied by Owner -

a. Owner shall furnish 110 or 480 volts, 60 cycle, single or three phase A.C. electric power, water at no less than 35 p.s.i. pressure (4 gallons per minute) and air at 8 cu. ft. per minute.
b. Necessary staging.
c. Installation of studs.
Materials
4. Sprayed Limpet Asbestos - Insulation shall be Limpet of appropriate grade, ao supplied by Armstrong Contracting & Supply Corporations LW-25 for use to 700 F.
5. Finishing Materials - Finish shall be Chevron Asphalt Company's Laycold Weathercoat.
Application
6. General
a. Surface Preparation - Prepare as necessary, removing all grease, dirt and loose material such as flaking paint and rust likely to -interfere with bond of Limpet to base surface.
b. Supports - Supports shall be in the form of 3/8" x 3-1/2" studs welded to the surface. These supports shall be used for anchoring galvanized wire mesh, located over the applied Limpet insulation.

c. Limpet Application - Application of Limpet shall ho carried out solely by approved applicators, licensed by Armstrong Contracting & Supply Corporation, and shall he -
(1) By skilled mechanics, thoroughly trained by Armstrong Contracting & Supply Corporation,
$2) Applied with the use of patented Limpet Spray Machinery,
(3) Sven in texture and applied to density and thickness as defined
in this specification and listed on drawings and written instruetions issued for this specific contract.
d. Outdoor Finish -
(1) Sard Weather Finish - After Liapet has been applied and pressed to proper thickness, apply 1" hexagonal 20 ga. wire mesh as specified in Section 6b. Over this, trcwel Laycold Weathercoat to a thickness of 1/4".
Warranty
7. Contractor shall warrant the satisfactory adherence Limpet insulation for
a period of one year.

GENERAL INSTRUCT;ONS TO CONTRACTORS WORKING WITHIN THE REFINERY
PURPOSE .
1. The purpose of this Instruction, is to acquaint you vith general rules and regulations of the Refinery pertaining to your vork while in the Refinery. Your cooperation in complying vith these regulations is requested.
CONTRACTOR
2. The term "Contractor" as used in these instructions, shall he understood to include any and all subcontractors performing vork Tinder terras of the contract under consideration. Contractor is responsible for getting this information to subcontractors and for directing and supervising vork of subcontractors.
COMPANY
3. In order to assist you in following these instructions, a Company
REPRESENTATIVE
representative will be assigned to you. It is his duty to act
as the Company's agent in all matters relative to your activities
while in the Refinery. All questions concerning these instructions
and additional instructions or information necessary for the
proper performance of your vork shall be referred to the Company
repre s entative.
4. Under no circumstance shall any vork be started until the Company representative has been contacted.
PASSES
5. Contact the Company representative prior to the start of. vork to arrange for Refinery passes for each of your employees. Badges are assigned to individual employees,* and are not transferable. Vehicle passes, when required, will be supplied by the Company.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the badges issued to his employees and final payment on the contract will be delayed until all badges are returned. In the case of loss of a badge, a report should be made to the Company representative immediately, including badge number, time and place of loss, and circumstances surrounding the loss.
6. All of your employees must wear hard hats whenever they are in field operating, maintenance or construction areas. Certain areas in the Shops Buildings where hard hats are required will be clearly identified.
The Company representative will advise you of the type of eye protection required and other Refinery personnel protection requirements.
MATCHES
7. Carrying "strike anywhere" matches in the Refinery is prohibited. Any cigar or cigarette lighters carried within the Refinery shall have the flint, steel, and operating mechanism enclosed in such a manner as to prevent the ]?ossibility of accidental lighting or sparking.

8. Smoking by Contractor's employees will be permitted only within areas designated by Company representative and subject to his restrictions.

9. Your motorized equipment shall be equipped with mufflers in good condition, and the wiring in good order before the
equipment will be allowed to enter the Refinery.
10. Drive carefully. Maximum speed limit in the Refinery is 20 mph. A walking guide must, be furnished by you when cumbersome loads or equipment is moved on Refinery streets.
11. Your motorized equipment shall be perked within the Refinery only within areas designated hy the Company representative. Employees' privately owned cars are not permitted within the Refinery.
12. Furnish the Company representative with information as to which doctor, hospital, and ambulance is to he used In case of accident or injury to Contractor's personnel.
13. In the case of any injury sustained on Refinery property by any of your employees, report the circumstances promptly to the
Company representative.
14. Do not allow your employees to enter operating units or operate any valve except water bibbs specifically designated by the Company representative.
15. Do not use or move fire fighting equipment, except that which is assigned for your use. Keep space around fire hydrants. extinguishers, hose houses, etc., clear at all times. In case of fire, keep away from the vicinity of the fire and out of the way of fire fighting activities.
