However, if there is anything I can do In the matter which coincides with your judg ment of what it is proper to do I should be pleased to do so. As you know, I and my associates have given serious attention to the running down of all complaints relating to Ethyl Gasoline and we like to be in position to know to what extent these claims are justified. The fact that we have not as yet found justifiable claims of lead poisoning from the handling of Ethyl Gasoline Is not necessarily a de terrent to investigating further claims. Therefore, if it is advisable or even possible for us to look into this matter without allowing It to assume a false importance I should be pleased to do so. I shall he guided in this matter by subsequent events and by your suggestion as to what it is best to do. In all of these matters, however, I should be glad if you would hear in mind that and my associates have a responsibility to the United States Public Health Service to investigate any and all such claims as show any basis whatever for justification.
