MADD It was agreed that the December 12 MADD presentation was both enjoyable and informative. Although, turnout was not as good as anticipated, those in attendance provided excellent discussions. Physical Fitness Program A survey sheet was completed and approved by the committee. It will be mailed through intra-plant mail to all employees and returned to the Plant Health Services Department. A 50% response is expected. The committee will aid in the evaluation of responses. Seatbelt Safety Mark is working with ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) on a program to be presented possibly in February concerning seatbelt safety. The film, "Room to Live", will be presented with some followup data. A stock sign has been located for purchase to be posted in strategic areas following the presentation. Moving Office Funiture The dangers of moving office furniture up and down stairs was discussed with Sherman Jones who requested a safety program be presented concerning this problem. It was suggested that it be turned over to the Maintenance Action Committee for consideration. Leo and Mark will get with the chairman of the committee for discussion. We are looking for input from the Coast Guard, Red Cross, Power Squadron, Can-Do Rescue Team, and College of the Mainland. Further discussion is planned. Heat Exhaustion The Safety Department has a film available concerning this the hazards of heat exhaustion. A presentation is under discussion for spring. Safety Fair/1986 Plant Calendar A suggestion was made to include the calendar contest in the safety fair thus making it possible for all family members to view the entries and possibly increase attendance. This was met with good response from other committee members. Our next meeting is tentatively set for January 30, in the ARMS training room at 1:00 p.m. to exclusively discuss and organize this project.
