Marshall Avenue Litchfield, Minnesota 55355 August 8, 2024 Re: Litchfield, Minnesota MS4 Clean Water Act Compliance Evaluation Inspection Report Dear Brad DeWolf, On July 17, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conducted a compliance evaluation inspection at the Litchfield, Minnesota ("Litchfield" or "you") Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) in Litchfield, Minnesota. The purpose of this inspection was to investigate elements of the Clean Water Act (CWA) and its National Pollution Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permit. The enclosed inspection report summarizes the inspection activities and findings. The observations of interest include topics such as housekeeping and pollution prevention at the Public Works Facility, the Construction Site Stormwater Inspections conducted at the City Sanitary Sewer Relocation and Litchfield High School projects, and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure. The EPA is requesting that Litchfield provide a written response to these observations identified in the report within 30 days from the date of receipt of this letter.
