Special Report No. TP-191 "Request for the Transfer of BMMA-8450 to Final Manufacturing Status" by Mr. L. D. Flshberg
It is requested that the Manufacturing Department accept the final transfer of BMMA-8450 Black 25, a novel molding material modified with one percent of ethylene ethyl acrylate copolymer. To date, approximately 70,000 pounds of BMMA-8450 have been made with no difficulty on units Rl, BJB, and C. Hie attached manufacturing procedure has been, discussed with Mr. D. R. Albright, and he is in agreement that final transfer of this product can be accomplished at this time.
The BMMA-8450 combines unique flow properties, particularly when cold, powder molded, with good cure speed and hot rigidity. Hie BMMA-8450 Black 25 DC has been successfully evaluated at Cutler Hammer in various quantities up to 10,000 pounds and is now being sampled to other accounts by Sales.
