One of them, and a copy of this letter, are intended for Dr. Hankins, if you so desire. I have written an interpretation of the analytical results which will serve as an attachment thereto for present purposes, and will acquaint you and Dr. Hankins with the immediate facts. This is in lieu of a report describing the purpose of the observations and setting forth the facts fully, but it will answer the questions of anyone who knows his way about in this field if you choose to make use of it. As you will note, this report has been on my desk since October 2nd, but I've been so hard-pressed that I simply havu't had time to write up a suitable formal report. Nor do I have the time to get at it just yet. It is for this reason that I send the analytical report along without further delay, so that you need be in no further doubt about the outcome of the observations. I am sure you will be gratified by these results, for they demonstrate, in a completely satisfactory manner, the lack of any appreciable absorption of this lead compound through the skin of these men, despite their very considerable and prolonged contact with it. - Just as soon as I can get out from under some immediate obligations I shall write up a report around these data, and will make it available for your use, discreetly, in documenting your position with the technical people who may need to know these facts.
