GENERAL LACQUER SALES DEPARTMENT BULLETIN NO. 27 AUGUST 9, 1926. Subject: SH3EWIS WILLIAMS II-^RTTSEIUG LACQUER STANDS RIGID TEST Following is a letter from Mr. F. C. Eenower, USD & Railway representative of Omaha, covering some tests he made for the Colorado & Southern Railway with Sher win-Williams Industrial Brasning Lacquer, which product was formerly known as Opex Industrial Brushing Lacquer: `During the first week of last April while in Denver, I made an effort to interest Ur. Ridgeway, Superintendent of Motive Power of the above railway in Opex Floor Enamel. I also saw the Master Mechanic, Ur. Roesch and was unable to get him very much interested. At my suggestion, Mr, Mason and myself applied two coats of Opex Enamel, Russet Tan, upon about fifty square feet of cement floor sur face at the entrance to his shop. Over this space are run all of the trucks, the heavy jacks and trams and all tools are dragged ova* this space and every person entering the shop must walk over this portion of the floor. While in this shop last Saturday, Mr. Mason had one of his men use a solution of lye andscrub off this portion of the floor and we were both agreeably surprised at the appearance. The surface was absolutely unbroken but for one ex ception and that is where the flang of a truck . wheel cut a groove in the cement floor. We called the Master Mechanic and he commented that if this material would stand the abuse that it had in this test, it should stand six or eight months in a passenger coach, Mr, Ridgeway.after seeing the result of this test, placed an order for sufficient material to do the cement floor in his basement remarking that he had been looking for something of this kind for a long time. Re also assured us that he would issue an order to do six coaches in this material.
