Results indicate a high recovery of sulfur with a consistent dryness of 907. solids with solid bowl centrifuge. PR&D results -show recovered sulfur quality approaches specifications of purchased sulfur for PgScj. The Parathlon Fume Collection System is expected to be fully operational and turned over to Production by 10/4. Process and Quality Analysis A 2-month experiment in Solid ArocloT to verify the computer study reported in July has demonstrated a 4% improvement in yield worth $40,000 annually. The process will be stabilized at this point until new instrumentation is completed, then will be optimized by further study. The controlling variable in Methyl Intermediate still yield was found to be operator manipulation of heat input. A superior pattern of heat control was recommended. Potential savings are estimated to be $79.000 annually. Final optimization of stills is planned when programmed steam controls are installed.
