This has been prepared for use by all departments to ensure consistency in our communications. Please destroy previous documents sent on Octooer 20, 1980 and May 27, 1981. We anticipate tnis will generate media inquiries ana suDsequent employee interest. A copy of the presentation is being sent to the Tennessee plants and is availaole to otner sites if interested. The presentation will only describe our asbestos screening program and will not reveal the numbers of cases found to date. It will discuss, in general terms, tne difficulties with detecting abnormalities and our training program for pnysicians. The attached material includes: 1. A copy of the Corporate stanaby media statement. 2. A suggested standby media statement for site use. 3. A Corporate media background on Du Pont's asbestos detection program.
