available metals.

Compared with other dense metals, depleted
uranium has a higher density right down the
line. And higher tensile strength, too. It is readily
fabricated by vacuum melting, casting into de
signed molds, and machined into uniform one-
piece configurations from a few ounces up to
four tons. No need for powder metal lurgy
techniques, with attendant limitations on size
and uniformity.
Depleted uranium is ideal where limited
space requires maximum weight. As counter
weights for aircraft control surfaces and aircraft
linkages. As ballast for missile re-entry vehicles
and simulated warheads. As projectiles. As
rotors in gyro compasses, inertial guidance sys
tems and bomb sights. Or your own not-so-
dense ideas.
