I. flu Pont de Nemours & Company Dear Dr. Kehoe: I beg to advise that the above case was partially tried on Tuesday ana Wednesday of this week. The only important witnesses who have testified so far are the plaintiff, his sister and Dr. Young. It was necessary to in terrupt the trial and the case has been reassigned for Tuesday the 13th of February. I think it would be most advantageous if you could be here on that date. Plaintiff's attorney stated, when Court adjourned yesterday, that he thought he had offered all the testimony that he would need but reserved the right tc place other witnesses on the stand 'when the trial was resumed. If he does not offer any ether witnesses, the du Pont Company will immediately present its side of the case. Dr. Young's testimony was so mild that Dr .Rankin and Mr. Hunt and I concluded that it would not be wise for me to even cross-examine him, except to ask what experience he had had in the treatment of lead intoxication. He testified that he had treated one man who had been poisoned by paint and also an Ethyl employee who was poisoned several years ago. Both patients fully re covered. (I have never heard of any such case from Ethyl). I am having Dr. Young's and the plaintiff's testimony transcribed and will send you a copy as soon as possible as I would like for you to read it. We were unable to induce Dr. Long and Dr. Toups to testify and so had Taylor examined by Doctors McYea ana Wallace. McYea found nothing to in dicate lead poison but was disturbed about Taylor's high blood pressure. He stated, however, that he would certainly not reach any conclusions as to the man's blood pressure on one reading alone. Since then, ws have given McYea some literature on lead poisoning and Dr. Rankin and I think that his testimony -will be favorable. Dr. Wallace thought that there might be some neurosis or hysteria on the part of the plaintiff and recommended that he be examined by a neuro-surgeon in Hew'Orleans. We'have also given Dr. Wallace seme literature which we think will be helpful. Incidentally, Dr. Young testified th-t, in his opinion, Taylor . COMFIDENTIM, Dr. Robert A.
