Air sanples were collected in the enployees' breathing . ones using mixed cellulose ester filters and personal sampling pumps. These samples were then suomi tted to the laboratory where they were analyzed for lead. The results are listed in the accompanying Table. It can be seen from the Table that one cf the samples exceeded the threshold limit,value (TLV) of O.a.5 milligram; of lead per cubic meter of a^r (mg/M-5)adopted by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Rygiensits (ACGIH). Therefore, it is recommended that: 1. The source of this exposure be determined and corrected using the on-going company sampling program. 2. Until such time as all exposures are consistently less than recorrmendea limits, continue to enforce a program of respiratory protective equipment consistent with accepted practice, such as outlined in ANSI Z-38.2. 3- Continue to enforce all work practices and ventilation requirements ana provide a medical program consistent with those outlined in the Criteria Document on Occupational Exposure to Inorganic lead published by tlx? National institute for Occupational Safety and Health (''TOSH).
