SUBJECT MONITORING SUMMARY REPORT, JULY 1982 ^ Included in this report are the results of monitoring for: Vinyl Chloride Acrylonitrile Lead Highlights The overall plant average of personnel monitoring for VCM was .07 PPM. The OSHA standard for VCM is not to exceed 1 PPM TWA over 8 hours. No samples exceeded the standard. The overall plant average of personnel monitoring for acrylonitrile was .07 PPM. The OSHA standard for acrylonitrile is not to exceed 2 PPM TWA over 8 hours. No samples exceeded the standard. One sample to evaluate airborne lead exposure was collected. The 17.43x<g/ M3 result was well below the OSHA standard of not to exceed 50/(g/M3 The reduced number of personnel monitoring samples and the reduced percent of time 'hat gas chromatographs were in operation reflects the shut down of the plant during .he 4th of July week. A one time only additional catagory of "PERCENT DOWN DUE TO JULY 4 SHUT DOWN" has been added to gas chromatograph operating time section to account for this time. Please note that the gas chromatograph from Building 111 (shut down) has been moved to Bldg. 127. Results will no longer be reported for Bldg. 111. Per request of T. S. Bialke, the number of dual tubes being used to check for break through in VCM monitoring has been increased to a minimum of 50%. 80% of July's VCM samples were run with dual tubes. No breakthrough was experienced. The data provided in this report does not reflect the results of monitoring done by T. S.
