Storeroom Items 4l~ 4 11 56 Description Marinite available through the Storeroom. Experimental or infrequently used Marinite. Other asbestos-containing items. (e.g. packing, brake shoes, pot insulation) Total items When the asbestos elimination program began, emphasis was placed on routinely used Storeroom items. We have discontinued or replaced about 70% of the total number of those items in the plant over the last nine years. This effort continues. However, there is still potential employee exposure to asbestos from other sources. In the past some plant, dam, and powerhouse equipment, upon origi nal installation or rebuild, was insulated with asbestos-containing materials. In an effort to identify those pieces of equipment and better protect Badin Works' employees who may make repairs on this equipment, you are asked to list any equipment that may be suspect. Send the list to me so that a determination can be made as to whether the insulation is asbestos-containing. A letter describing general asbestos handling procedures has been sent to Maintenance personnel that may need to work on the equipment in the future.
