Thompson ^"File With the dramatic VCM reduction results obtained at Pasadena with "mild" stripping, I have been wondering if we have been overlooking the possibility that direct steam sparging into the slurry vs indirect jacket heat up might not be sealing the pores of the resin particles and thus, making VCM migration more difficult. This might be more the case for copolymer than for homopolymer. We have several cases in point at the plant level where the dry blend times of 225 and 250 resins increase with increases in stripping temperature. It seems to me that this area of investigation might be most fruitful and I would suggest that we evaluate the particle porosities with various heating techniques. WM:jmp V COIiORITE 010766
