Section 243.12) Particulates
a) Primary Standards. The primary ambient air quality standards for particulate matter are:
1) An. annual geometric mean concentration of 7S micrograms per cubic meter; and.
2) A maximum 24-hour concentrat ton not to be esceeded more than once per year of 260 micrograms per cubic meter.
b) Secondary Standards. The secondary ambient air quality standards for particulate flutter are:
1) An annual geometric mean concentration of 60 micrograms per cubic meter; and.
2) A maximum 24-hour concentration not to be esceeded more than once per year of ISO micrograms per cubic meter.
c) Measurement Method. For determining conformance with particulate air quality
- -standards, particulate matter shall be measured .by the high .volume sampler method as
.. described In. 40 CFR.SO. Appendix 8 (1982). 36 Fed. Reg. 22388. November 2S. 1971. or by an equivalent method approved by the Agency.
Section 243.122 Sulfur oxides (Sulfur Otoxlde)
a) Primary standards. The primary asblent air , quality.Standards for sulfur oxides measured as-sulfur dioxide.ard:
1) An annuaTartthmetlc mean- consentratio* " . of 80'micrograms per cubic`meter (0.03 ppm): .and.
2) a max1mum-'24-hour concentration not to-beexceeded more than once per year of 36S micrograms.per cubic meter (0.14 ppm).
b) Secondary StaMlfC .The SecontfarymsStent' air quality standard fqr sulfur oxides measured as sulfur dioxide ts a maxlxxm . 3-hour concentration not to be exceeded more than once per year of. 1.300 micrograss per

Section 243.123 Carbon Monoxide
a) Standards. The ambient air quallly standards for carbqn monoxide' are:
I) A maximum 8-hour concentration not to be exceedtMTmore than unce per year of 10 milligrams per cubic owter (9 ppm); and.
2| A coax Inna l-hour concentration not to Be exceeded more than once per year of 40 -
-. .milligrams.per cubic oieter (3S ppm).
b) Measurement Method. For determining contonaance with the carbon ounoxlde air quality standard, carbon-monoxide shall be measured by the non-dtsperstve infrared
- spectrometry technique as described In 40 CFR SO. Appendix C(1982). 3ff Ted. Reg. 22J9T: November 2$. 1971, or by an equivalent method approved by the Agency.
