I am glad that the matter is In your hands. Though it has nothing to do with patent workings, I oan not but wonder whether any plans have been made or any information has been obtained with regard to the South American question. I con sider this of some consequence and I hope that the situation will not be permitted to go on without some definite attempt to obtain the facts. I have talked the natter over a little among raj own people and if it were regarded as desirable, I believe that Dr. Sehradln could undertake the trip to examine into the situation* He speaks some Spanish and with a little brushing up would be able to get along fairly well. I do not urge his going for I still think that it might be desirable to have the matter looked into by one of the commercial representatives of the Cor* poration. On the other hand with ay feelings about the necessity for doing something, I am quite willing to assist matters to tbelr conclusion by putting one of ay own men at your disposal, - - With regard to the proposition from the Pan American Medical Association, since you have brought it to my official attention, I can do no more than to point out to you that this organization has some in fluence in Pan American public health matters, and that 1 as a physician have1every interest in- the success of their medical program! do not see in what respect the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation need have any particular interest in their purposes, but as the medical repre sentative of the Corporation X should be glad to-see kE 0015533 2 Dp * Graham Edgar some contribution made merely as a gesture to indicate our sympathetic feeling toward their organization and Its purposes.
