three mala fibre bands within a total height of, say, 10 feet *nd the total length of fibre in the a bands

is about 5i to 6H, thus offering a possible yield

of approximately 4^ to 5jt. The top seen has the best ;.**

St present there ia a drive approximately &'-0

Once out of the sain workings, the idea is to sine the total height to obtain the three re bands as It will not setter then if cave-ina ocour. I think they "ill experience a lot of roof trouDiS when they attempt to take the top band. At present they are blowing the barren rock first, leaving the ore on the floor (the
middle band) and then the ore body Is blown out.

Barren rock is trucked to the side of the cliff and tipped over. Ore is trucked across a bridge and tipped onto the ground in front of a 12* wide Jaw crusher and shovelled into the crusher-by band.
A flow sheet of the sill is attached hut it is as follows i- Froa the jew crusher a belt conveyer elevates the ore to a Jaques gyratory crusher (about site 4), then
another belt elevates to a.Rotex screen. The overs froa
the screen ere Ho. 1 grade ore sized with rock and these
are discharged into, and stored in, a stall hopper below
the hotex end are later treated separately through the
plant. The through* from the Ro&ex go through a pair of
rolls similar to those we have installed and ere then
elevated by belt conveyor to a second Botox, Ihe overs
froo this Rotes are called 2nd grade fibre and rock and
are stored in a hopper for subsequent treatment. The

4nd So. 2 grades are treated separately. The Mo. 1
dischargee on to the bait after the first rolls end
then gees through the remainder of the plant. The
A
*o. 2 fibre discharges on to the elevator lending to
'^the Sub it Kill end goes through the rest of the plant.
The capacity of the plant is very nuoh below that *cf otlr alii partly because of the snail jaw crusher and
also because 1st, Sad and 3rd grades oust be treated
separately. The plant is strong in cleaning equipment,
however, and very clean fibre should be obtained.
.......The "plant,. was running quite SBoothly^at the ' ties of
-- ay visit although froa reports* they have had i lot of *
trouble, lho Botcx screens give no trouble but I
understand these are Saported, sot Australian screens.
Hr. Kennedy said the reason why he was running tbs
Bill was because he had had a telegran asking hiss to
endeavour by all possible means to run and obtain 5 tons
of each grade. Ha said this was not possible with the
limited ore at his disposal, as to produce S tons first
grade he would have to sake 60 tons third grade with his
present ore. He had lust about obtained his & tons ho.
Z grade which was all he intended to get but had just
v
received a further wire instructing him io continue
operating at uaxlaus production.
He cannot continue because the only ore ha has
, chains frosi the Bine if from one 8 ft. face. In additioc
the alii is not in a condition to run. tfuch of it is
unroofed and this is serious as the place abounds with
pits which will flood with rain. The power house roof
is not completed and tt would act be possible tv, opwratw
the power house in heavy rein.
Ihe power house contains one large engine and dynast
and a stand-by oil engine end dynamo. A
